Logistics Plus Inc. (LP) has been an M&T Bank customer since it was founded 25 years ago. When the pandemic began to unfold, Logistics Plus founder and CEO Jim Berlin saw an opportunity to both continue operations, and help those on the front lines by adapting its business model to include PPE sourcing and distribution. M&T Bank group manager David Ladori helped LP navigate the process to secure the funding it needed. To highlight this partnership, M&T Bank recently posted the client spotlight video shown below.
“M&T has been there for us from day 1–when we first started this crazy adventure—and have stood by us consistently, through thick and thin,” said Berlin. “Not everyone knows, of course, but their support has helped allow us to be ourselves—our somewhat ‘unique’ LP Style (?). So…thanks to Dave and Kevin and Mark and the rest of the team at M&T, and a special shoutout to Wendy Wilcox, for ALWAYS being there for us. Thank you, guys.”
The Logistics Plus China and Belgium project cargo teams assisted with building the first ever floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) vessel in China. The transport involved shipping 3 regasification modules; the largest one measuring 20 x 10.5 x 14.5 meters and weighing 425 metric tons. These modules were transported from the production facility to the shipyard in China where they were being installed. Logistics Plus provided project management services to design the transport plan, provide oversight, and share the necessary information with all parties involved in this operation.
As a side note, Global Project Manager Frederik Geirnaert would normally attend such an operation. As a result of coronavirus (COVID-19), Frederik was forced to oversee the operation virtually using a direct video link provided by the nominated Marine Warranty Surveyor. Logistics Plus would like to thank all of our partners as this operation would not be possible without their support.
The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak continues to spread globally and supply chains are feeling the effects. As a leading worldwide provider of logistics and supply chain solutions, Logistics Plus is uniquely positioned to have our hand on the pulse of this situation. Yuriy Ostapyak, COO & Director of Global Operations for Logistics Plus, recently provided comments regarding this global pandemic, including the impact the coronavirus has had on global business, capacity and inventory, and suppliers; and what Logistics Plus is doing to assist its customers.
Logistics Plus Belgium completed the successful delivery of a cryogenic storage tank from Antwerp to Ghent. The tank, measuring 15 x 4 x 4 meters and weighing 30 tons, was transported by the Logistics Plus project cargo team. This is now the 5th tank in the last 2 years that has been delivered to Belgium.
“Logistics Plus has become very familiar with transporting these storage tanks,” said Frederik Geirnaert, Global Projects Manager for Logistics Plus. “Although each tank presents a different challenge for our team, we continue to deliver them on time, every time.”
