Working with contacts in combat positions in Ukraine, Logistics Plus funded, procured, and outfitted two custom-equipped vans set up as mobile trauma units, and last week we delivered them to Bakhmut. These vans were outfitted with the gear and equipment specifically requested by the Ukrainian field medics who will operate them. Field medics provide front-line mobile trauma care to address injuries that often prove fatal when not treated until the wounded reach a field hospital but can be non-fatal if treatment is provided more swiftly.
We are proud of this contribution and hope it helps make a real impact. Learn more about Logistics Plus activities in Ukraine at www.logisticsplus.com/rebuilding-ukraine.
The ongoing war has resulted in great suffering and loss for both sides, and it is our collective responsibility to seek solutions to this ongoing crisis. UKRAINE: From War to Reconstruction was a special luncheon panel discussion featuring distinguished speakers who shared their practical insights and the latest information on the impact of war on the commerce and economy of Ukraine. The panelists also discussed the international community’s role in rebuilding Ukraine, sectoral needs and opportunities, and practical strategies for doing business in Ukraine while minimizing risk and costs. The event was a critical opportunity to clear the air, seek understanding, and chart a path toward economic reinvigoration and rebuilding.

Last week, the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) held a U.S.-Ukraine Partnership Forum organized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, followed by a business breakfast about the Recovery and development of Ukraine’s economy in 2023. They were honored to have Halyna Yanchenko, a member of the Ukrainian Parliament, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine/ Secretary of the National Investment Council, and Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister of Economy, as speakers. The USUBC conveyed a special thank you to Palantir Technologies, a member of USUBC, for hosting this event in Washington, D.C, and to Wendy R. Anderson, SVP, Federal, National Security, for a warm reception and opening remarks.
The meeting brought together leaders from companies such as Logistics Plus (represented by Derek Berlin, pictured here, top second from the left), Honeywell, Corteva Agriscience, Walmart, Northrop Grumman, Trimble Inc., Amsted Rail, PwC, CalypsoAI, Kinstellar, Depsol Technologies, LLC, U.S.-Ukraine Foundation, Rebuilding Ukraine Agency, and other members. The collective group explored the Ukrainian Government’s initiatives to promote private sector investment and their projections for Ukraine’s economic reconstruction this year.
The war in Ukraine has caused immense damage to the country’s infrastructure and economy. The World Bank estimates the cost of rebuilding Ukraine will be $411 billion over the next decade.
The Ukrainian government has developed a plan for recovery and reconstruction that includes the following priorities:
Repairing damaged infrastructure. This includes roads, bridges, hospitals, power plants, and energy distribution grids. Providing humanitarian assistance. This includes food, water, shelter, and medical care for those who have been displaced by the war. Creating jobs and stimulating the economy. This includes providing financial assistance to businesses and individuals and investing in infrastructure projects. Promoting good governance. This includes fighting corruption and building a transparent and accountable government.
The international community has also pledged to support Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction. The United States has committed $2.5 billion in aid, and the European Union has pledged €500 million.
Additionally, the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council, established in 1995, and of which Logistics Plus is a member, is advancing U.S. companies’ trade and investment interests in Ukraine and advocating for measures to improve bilateral trade and investment conditions. In support of its mission, the Council works closely with other organizations interested in supporting a growing commercial relationship between the United States and Ukraine.
The rebuilding of Ukraine will be a long and difficult process, but ensuring the country’s future is essential. With the international community’s support, Ukraine can rebuild its economy, create jobs, and provide a better future for its citizens.
