ERIE, PENNSYLVANIA, October 1, 2014 – Scott Frederick has been named the new vice president of marketing for Logistics Plus Inc., a worldwide provider of freight management, global logistics, and specialized business solutions.

Working collaboratively with the Logistics Plus offices around the world, Frederick will help develop new marketing and web strategies and refine existing ones in support of business goals and objectives.

Frederick last served with PartnerShip LLC, a Cleveland, OH logistics company, where he oversaw marketing and technology initiatives, including an award-winning integrated marketing program.  He brings 25 years of marketing and transportation industry experience to Logistics Plus, including prior experience working for well-known transportation organizations YRC Worldwide, YRC Regional Transportation, USF Corporation, and USF Holland.

He received his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Ferris State University and a Master of Business Administration in Business and Marketing from Grand Valley State University.

Logistics Plus Offers New Rail Service in Indonesia

Erie, PA, January 30, 2014- Logistics Plus Indonesia / PT Sentra Logistik has opened a $2.5 million rail freight services facility at the Cikarang Dry Port, West Java.  Logistics Plus will manage international forwarding, supply chain management, offshore logistics base, project, and domestic transportation.  The Cikarang terminal/station is managed by Cikarang Dry Port (CDP), while the rail facilities and infrastructures are managed by the state-owned railroad company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI).

The new facility provides one-stop services for distribution and logistics needs, including overnight rail service between Jakarta and Surabaya.  This venture will also have the added benefit of reducing ever-increasing road traffic on Pantura Road.  In 2013, as many as 23 million containers were distributed by rail in Indonesia. Those numbers are projected to reach around 60 million containers in 2020.
The decision to open the facility is an extension of Logistics Plus’ commitment to maintain and help develop a strong, evolving distribution and logistics service in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

Erie, PA, October 1, 2013 – Logistics Plus is the proud new owner of a warehouse located in the former Skinner Engine Company building on 12th Street between Chestnut and Myrtle Streets.

Along with 50,000 square feet of storage space, the secured facility offers spacious offices, bulk storage and racked storage, an inventory control management system, overhead cranes, three recessed loading docks, and grade level doors with inside load/unload capabilities.  Logistics Plus already has most of the space filled, although there is still office space available in this central location on busy 12th Street.

This warehouse is a welcome addition to the transportation and supply chain solutions that Logistics Plus already offers, and also helps to revitalize a portion of 12th Street in Erie.  By providing the financing, Marquette Savings Bank and the City of Erie were vital partners in this project.

Logistics Plus Acquires Horizon Logistics

ERIE, PA (April 12, 2011) – Furthering its strategy of delivering logistics solutions and international supply chain management, Jim Berlin, Chief Executive Officer of Logistics Plus, announced today the acquisition of Horizon Logistics, the 3PL subsidiary division of Horizon Lines (NYSE: HRZ). The acquisition is expected to be completed by April 29, 2011. Under terms of this agreement, Horizon Lines will transfer the majority of its Irving, Texas-based Horizon Logistics staff as well as its Lexington, NC, and San Francisco, CA-based operations to Logistics Plus, Inc.

The acquisition expands Logistics Plus’s portfolio of services including international ocean transportation, air freight forwarding, intermodal transportation management, distribution, warehousing and fulfillment, trucking, and expedited delivery. Horizon Logistics network includes warehouses, terminals, and offices in Lexington, NC, and Dallas, TX.
