Logistics Plus Receives 2020 Supply & Demand Chain Executive SDCE 100 Top Supply Chain Projects Award

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Logistics Plus Receives 2020 Supply & Demand Chain Executive
SDCE 100 Top Supply Chain Projects Award

It’s the second consecutive year; and fourth time in the past five years that Logistics Plus has been recognized.

SDC100Logo_2020ERIE, PA (June 17, 2020) – Logistics Plus Inc., a leading worldwide provider of transportation, logistics, and supply chain solutions, is proud to announce it has been selected by Supply & Demand Chain Executive, the executive’s user manual for successful supply and demand chain transformation, as a recipient of a 2020 “SDCE 100” Top Supply Chain Projects Award. This is the second consecutive year and the fourth time in the past five years that Logistics Plus has been honored with the award.

The 2020 SDCE 100 spotlights successful and innovative projects that deliver bottom-line value to small, medium, and large enterprises across the range of supply chain functions. These projects can serve as a map for supply chain executives looking for new opportunities to drive improvement in their own operations. These projects also show how supply chain solution and service providers help their customers and clients achieve supply chain excellence and prepare their supply chains for success.

The supply chain project submitted by Logistics Plus that earned this year’s recognition was an innovative solution taking existing processes and information flows and aggregating them together for a client that was looking for a simpler, more efficient, and faster fulfillment solution. The client sells private-label furniture items that include a 7-year warranty. The manufacturers for these warranty replacements are primarily located in Asia, but the client’s customers are primarily located in North America. To optimize the warranty process, Logistics Plus provided warehousing and fulfillment services under a single agreement while also acting as the importer of record (IOR). As a result, Logistics Plus was able to go from initial bidding to live operations to support a critical after-market function for the client.

“Innovation is essential in driving the supply chain industry forward, and thanks to these valuable partnerships, companies of all sizes are able to achieve success in projects that matter,” says Marina Mayer, editor for Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “From business intelligence systems and supply and demand planning to inventory reduction and procurement solutions, the SDCE 100 offers proof-of-concept that with the right planning and execution, anything is possible.”

“A big selling point for us is our ability to create unique, out of the box solutions in a moment’s notice,” said Jim Berlin, founder and CEO of Logistics Plus. “I am very proud of our award-winning solutions team. Thank you to Supply & Demand Chain Executive for recognizing us, once again, with one of their top supply chain awards.”

Logistics Plus to Celebrate 2nd Annual NATIONAL LOGISTICS DAY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Logistics Plus to Celebrate 2nd Annual NATIONAL LOGISTICS DAY on June 28th

The 2020 campaign is also being supported by the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA).

LP-Blue-NLD-Logo-2020ERIE, PA (June 2, 2020) – Logistics Plus Inc. (LP), a leading worldwide provider of transportation, logistics, and supply chain solutions, is announcing its intentions to support and celebrate the second annual NATIONAL LOGISTICS DAY (NLD) on June 28, 2020 – an annual day to recognize and appreciate the importance of the logistics industry.

Last year, LP formally registered NATIONAL LOGISTICS DAY on June 28th as an official holiday with the Registrar at National Day Calendar. LP also obtained government endorsements from the Mayor of Erie; the County Executive of Erie County; the Governor of Pennsylvania; the House of Representatives of Pennsylvania (H.R. 395); the States of Ohio and South Carolina; and from members of Pennsylvania’s Congressional delegation (by Congressional Record). An additional proclamation for this year is being reviewed by the White House.

“I am proud of our team and our industry,” said Jim Berlin, founder and CEO of Logistics Plus, a former truck driver and 45-year logistics industry veteran. “While we might have started the NLD movement last year, this really is an industry-wide appreciation event. This year more than ever, logistics companies across the nation and around the world, including drivers, dock workers, dispatchers, staffers and all the rest, have really demonstrated their essential importance to the economy by pulling out all the stops to keep supply chains moving, and to get much-needed PPE and medical supplies to our front-line heroes.”

TIA logoThe Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) has joined this year’s NLD celebration by designating June as TIA Member Appreciation Month, a time to recognize the significant and often under-appreciated role of the logistics industry within the greater transportation ecosystem. TIA’s month-long campaign highlighting the logistics industry will culminate in the celebration of NLD on June 28th. Logistics Plus has been a member of TIA since 2011.

“To say it has been a trying last few months for our members and the industry would be a vast understatement,” said Robert A. Voltmann, President & CEO of TIA. “From the massive disruptions and economic impact on the nation as a result of COVID-19 to the recent attacks on brokers by owner-operators over rate transparency, I know it may feel like it’s just been one hit after another. It is important to remember, however, the symbolic role your business and the 3PL industry plays in the national and global economies.”

How to Observe NATIONAL LOGISTICS DAY

Visit www.tianet.org/national-logistics-day/ to read interesting facts about the logistics industry; download the official National Logistics Day holiday logos; get discounts on TIA educational courses; and more. You can also use the #NationalLogisticsDay hashtag to give social media shout-outs to friends, family or colleagues that work in the logistics and supply chain fields.
