Gretchen Blough Talks About The Unexpected on Marketplace

Gretchen Blough Talks About The Unexpected on Marketplace

Gretchen BloughLogistics Plus Customs Brokerage Manager Gretchen Blough makes another appearance on Marketplace, hosted by Kai Ryssdal, to talk about customs and tariffs.

For customs broker Gretchen Blough, business has been a “little crazy.” And Russia’s invasion of Ukraine — and the disruptions it’s caused to the global supply chain — are only part of the problem.

“The port in Shanghai has been closed,” said Blough, who works at Logistics Plus in Erie, Pennsylvania. “There’s been capacity issues domestically. Also, we are dealing with some anti-dumping and countervailing issues with solar panels, so our solar customers are kind of in a holding pattern while they decide how this is going to play out.”

For Blough, change has become the norm. “Everything is just a constant pivot,” she said. “Because there hasn’t been a lot of warning to some of the issues that have happened, and we’ve just had to make do.”

Erie United For Ukraine Campaign Launched

Erie United For UkraineToday, the two new leaders of The Erie Community Foundation and United Way of Erie County announced the #ErieUnitedForUkraine campaign. This campaign supports the international effort by United Way Worldwide, a multinational effort to direct much-needed donations to United Way organizations in the countries welcoming Ukrainians fleeing the horrors of war.

The announcement was made from the Logistics Plus ETN warehouse, which has already been collecting items to ship to Lublin, Poland (Erie’s sister city), where it will go to support Ukrainian refugees. Logistics Plus COO Yuriy Ostapyak spoke to the media to thank everyone for the outpouring of support from the Erie community.

United Way and The Erie Community Foundation are encouraging donors and the community to donate through the local campaign portal #ErieUnitedForUkraine. Monetary donations will be directed to the organizations with expertise in humanitarian relief efforts: United Way Romania, United Way Hungary and Fundacja Dobrych Inicjatyw (Good Initiatives Foundation) in Poland.

Logistics Plus Profiled in the Inbound Logistics 2022 Logistics Planner

Logistics Plus Profiled in the Inbound Logistics 2022 Logistics Planner

IL Jan22 2022 Logistics Planner ThumbnailLogistics Plus has, once again, been profiled as a top third-party logistics (3PL) company by Inbound Logistics magazine for its annual Logistics Planner. In its 30th year of publication, the 2022 industry planner helps companies find the right technology solutions and transportation and logistics partners to drive supply chain efficiency. With both print and digital editions, the annual issue is updated with profiles of leaders in transportation, technology, logistics, and more who stand ready to help businesses face upcoming challenges to optimize their supply chains.

The Logistics Plus profile appears on page 348 of the publication, and an accompanying advertisement appears on page 137. The profile and advertisement formally present our new theme “Global Logistics + So Much More” as a follow-up to A 21st Century Logistics Company™ introduced last year.

Working as your 3PL, 3.5PL, or 4PL partner, Logistics Plus is the company that handles supply chain challenges from start to finish by doing what other logistics companies can’t or won’t do. We’re small enough to be agile and responsive to your needs, yet large enough to have a network of solutions that span your entire supply chain.

You can view PDF versions of the Logistics Plus profile and advertisement by clicking the two images below.
