LP Erie has just completed loading of a large break bulk ocean shipment in Port Newark, NJ. Pictured are the largest two units: 305,000# and 142,000#. Also shipped were eight other large pieces, plus three containers. Total weight, a little less than a million pounds!
Matt Bosko was responsible for coordinating everything among the customer, port authority, trucking companies, export packers, steamship captain, stevedores, terminal operators and surveyors. Nice job, Matt!
Next stop: Antwerp, where Ivo and his team will assist during the transloading onto a vessel bound for Kolkata, India. There, LP India will take over and deliver the cargo to the jobsite in Paradip.
Truly a global team effort!

On September 20th, 2011, Logistics Plus became one of more than 300 sponsors in an effort to raise money for the Flight 93 Memorial National Park in Shanksville, PA. This effort was called “Let’s Roll Ride”, in accordance with the famous phrase used by one of the heroes aboard the flight before they rose up to fight the terrorists. Multiple groups that consisted of 40 riders traveled from different towns across Pennsylvania to arrive at the site and pay their respects.
During the ride, each motorcyclist fastened a blue flag to their bike to honor the heroes. Once at the national park, riders and spectators gathered for a memorial service to honor those who had fallen that day. They had a moment of silence at specific times in correspondence with when the planes had crashed on that day. Family members of the 40 also were in attendance and said the name of their beloved ones on stage while a bell was rung for them.
We, at Logistics Plus, are proud to have participated in this event and are proud to say we will never forget those who gave their lives to protect the ones they cared most about.

As Logistics Plus celebrates our 15th anniversary this month, I am proud to announce the completion of our latest mural (done by the very talented Jason Mumford) on the old Dana Brake building at Wayne and 14th St.
The mural, depicting Oliver Hazard Perry on the Brig Niagara during the Battle of Lake Erie, is part of LP’s continuing efforts to both help beautify the city and to commemorate Erie’s proud heritage.
Just as the Peach St and Sassafras bridges welcome visitors to downtown, this new mural will welcome people driving to Erie via the Bayfront Connector (and just down the road from yet another Mumford mural on Team Hardinger’s warehouse). As Logistics Plus continues to grow here in Erie and across America and around the world–now with over a dozen offices in the US, and offices in 18 countries we continue to make Erie our home–A truly global company, with our corporate headquarters right here in Erie, Pa!
Onward!
Thanks to Jason for another terrific job and for helping us celebrate Logistics Plus’ and Erie’s proud history.
