Almost a year after the initial planning began, the Logistics Plus Project Cargo team is nearly finished with their latest converter project. Logistics Plus is responsible for the door-to-river dock transportation of two converter sections from Gebze, Turkey to Kentucky. The converter sections were each ten meters high and weighed a combined total of 1,304 freight tons.
Due to height restrictions, the units were transported piece by piece to the assembly area at the loading port. Once assembled, the team used vessel gears for the loading and discharge operation. The units were discharged directly to a barge at the Port of New Orleans. The barge is currently heading North to its final destination in Kentucky.
