The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and PHMSA announced that they are NOT extending enforcement discretion specific to hand sanitizers, cleaning agents, and recurrent training requirements as predicted. The formal announcement issued in the spring of this year officially expired on October 31st. As a reminder, these were temporary measures put in place to ease transportation hazmat requirements so that hand sanitizers and certain cleaning agents could be easily distributed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This means that all hazmat regulations for transportation and storage of these products are once again in effect. Hand Sanitizers, cleaners, and other such hazmat material MUST be hauled only by properly licensed, and hazmat endorsed drivers and carriers.
For more updates as they become available, please visit www.phmsa.dot.gov.
If you need help routing your hazmat shipments with a qualified carrier, please contact the Logistics Plus North American Division (NAD) at 866-335-7623 or by emailing us at quotes@logisticsplus.com.
Logistics Plus employees recently completed the Dale Carnegie Skills for Success program at our global headquarters in Erie, PA. This foundational leadership program was provided by Logistics Plus to 23 employees that volunteered to strengthen their abilities in people, communication, management, and leadership skills as well as building confidence and managing stress more effectively. The course took place for 4 hours every Wednesday for 8 weeks. The program will continue to be made available to additional Logistics Plus employees going forward.
The Dale Carnegie Skills for Success course has five main objectives:
Build greater self-confidence
Strengthen people skills
Enhance communication skills
Develop leadership skills
Reduce stress and improve our attitude
The Dale Carnegie program is used all over the world to help companies improve leadership skills and invest in their employees. Jim Berlin, Founder and CEO of Logistics Plus, has taken the course twice and wanted to give his employees the opportunity to experience it. Jim said, “In my mind, this course gives you the ‘tricks of the trade’ on how to become a better human being, how to get along with others, and how to get things done. I’d highly recommend it to everyone.”
Andrew Copple, an IT support specialist, was one of the employees who participated in the class. Andrew said, “It ended up being such a great experience for all of us that we’ve already made plans to meet up in the coming weeks to continue discussing the principles we learned during the class. Stress management, relationships, and leadership are all areas where we’ve seen improvements over the past 8 weeks. We’ve even encouraged some of our co-workers who we think could benefit from taking this course when it comes time to enroll again.” At the conclusion of the last session, Andrew won the award for the ‘Highest Achiever’ in the class.
At the conclusion of the program, the Logistics Plus employees who participated expressed a HUGE ‘thank you’ to Jim and the Dale Carnegie team for providing them with this learning opportunity. The life lessons and leadership skills gained throughout this experience will never be forgotten.

ERIE, PA (November 5, 2020) – Logistics Plus Inc., a leading worldwide provider of transportation, logistics, and supply chain solutions, has been aggressively expanding its warehousing and fulfillment capacity in the past year. New or relocated facilities in southern California, Chicago, northwestern Pennsylvania, and New Jersey have added over one million additional square feet to the company’s primary warehousing footprint in the United States. Logistics Plus now actively manages over two million square feet of warehousing space at over a dozen facilities across the country. Additionally, the company manages warehousing contracts for its 4PL clients at nearly 100 more locations around the world.
The recently acquired or expanded Logistics Plus warehousing facilities include:
A new, flagship Chino, CA facility with 566,000 square feet
Two new Erie, PA facilities with 88,000 and 130,000 square feet, respectively
An expanded Dayton, NJ facility, now with 309,000 square feet
Logistics Plus also manages primary dry storage and fulfillment warehouses in Haslet, TX; Elk Grove Village, IL; Olean, NY; and Lexington, NC. In March of this year, Transport Topics magazine named Logistics Plus number 56 on its annual list of top dry storage warehousing firms. Logistics Plus has been recognized as a top 3PL by Multichannel Merchant each of the past three years for its e-commerce fulfillment capabilities.
According to Armstrong & Associates (A&A), a leading Third-Party Logistics (3PL) market research firm, e‐commerce is the fastest-growing 3PL Market segment driving significant new demand for warehousing and fulfillment services. Retailers are increasingly relying upon 3PLs to help manage omnichannel and e‐commerce supply chain operations. U.S. 3PL e‐commerce revenues reached $43.4 billion in 2019, and A&A expects 28% growth through 2020 as e‐commerce purchases continue to expand during the pandemic and companies continue to outsource logistics activities.
“We’re seeing a lot of growth in the e-commerce side of our business, including many things we never thought we’d ever be doing, like importing, warehousing, and fulfilling millions of PPE supplies, or programming and shipping thousands of tablets and mobile phones across the country for some of our high-tech clients,” said Jim Berlin, founder & CEO of Logistics Plus. “Having another one million square feet of additional capacity gives us a lot more capability and flexibility for our current customers and positions us for additional growth going forward.”

The Logistics Plus Europe Project Cargo team is proud to announce that they have been nominated as the project logistics solution provider for the Siemens Mobility Desiro HC project to Israel. Over the past several months, our project engineering team worked hard to find the most efficient loading solution for Siemens railways. As a result, our team met the highest Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) standards without interfering with the design of the railways.
Project Scope
In 2018, Siemens and the state-owned Israel Railways (ISR) signed a €900 million contract for the delivery of 60 Desiro HC regional trainsets over the next ten years. This contract is of major strategic importance since this was the first time in company history that Siemens was selling complete trains to Israel. Also, the Desiro HC train platform was sold for the first time outside of Germany. By partnering with the RoRo carrier Grimaldi Germany GmbH, Logistics Plus was able to provide constant support and visibility throughout this crucial project.
