“The 2021 Inc. 5000 list feels like one of the most important rosters of companies ever compiled,” says Scott Omelianuk, editor-in-chief of Inc. “Building one of the fastest-growing companies in America in any year is a remarkable achievement. Building one in the crisis we’ve lived through is just plain amazing. This kind of accomplishment comes with hard work, smart pivots, great leadership, and the help of a whole lot of people.”
“This month, we are celebrating our 25th anniversary,” said Jim Berlin, Founder and CEO of Logistics Plus. “I think we have been ahead of the curve when it comes to company culture. It’s always been our policy to treat our employees with respect and foster a work-hard-play-hard environment. Since day one, growth has been our only real strategy. And with our continued growth and success, we can offer employees many opportunities to advance and try new things.”
Companies on the 2021 Inc. 5000 are ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2017 to 2020. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2017. They must be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2020. (Since then, some on the list may have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2017 is $100,000; the minimum for 2020 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Growth rates used to determine company rankings were calculated to three decimal places. There was one tie on this year’s Inc. 5000. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.’s September issue. The most sensitive deliveries require extra attention. Rather than simply placing freight on a loading dock or trailer, white glove logistics – also referred to as final mile delivery – ensure that shipments are delivered to meet customer expectations. In simple terms, white glove logistics implies a premium delivery service that gives shipments extra attention to detail.
Attention to Detail
It doesn’t matter if you need to move one item or a full truckload. White glove services are all about creating the most tailored and specific deliveries possible. This includes shipping delicate items, oversized freight, or other goods in specific vehicles like padded vans, secured trucks, and climate-controlled units. Frequently, white glove deliveries involve special packaging depending on the shipped goods’ size, fragility, and value.
Timing
With white glove deliveries, timing is everything. A white glove logistics provider doesn’t just aim to deliver goods on time; they deliver at the time most suitable to the customer. Ensuring that no package is left unattended on a dock or a doorstep is crucial in these instances.
Real-Time Visibility
Visibility is another key feature of white glove logistics services. For sensitive products, you must know where your product is at all times. White glove service providers use technology and business intelligence tools to track orders at all stages. From pickup to delivery, you will receive notifications and updates on the whereabouts of your product.
Setup and Haul-Away
People often opt for white glove deliveries because of the setup and haul-away convenience. White glove professionals are trained to carry your shipment to the place it needs to be unloaded and then set it up in a safe and timely manner. They will then dismantle and haul away any old products that need to be removed.
Customer Service
White glove delivery eliminates the need to worry about missing, delayed, or lost shipments. With trained professionals handling your cargo and providing regular updates and tracking information, you will know when your shipment is expected to deliver and where it is throughout each step of the process. With a white glove delivery service, customers are always the top priority.

As you may have heard, Logistics Plus had to make the difficult decision of canceling our 25th-anniversary party. With the recent increase in the spread and severity of COVID, there is too much uncertainty at this time. Having folks coming in from all over the country and from around the world, the last thing we wanted to happen was to have someone catch the disease and then take it home. So, it was a tough call, but we thought it was the right and smart thing to do.
Please watch the video below from our Founder and CEO Jim Berlin explaining our decision and thanking everyone for their support.
In lieu of a large anniversary party, some of the employees at the Logistics Plus Global Headquarters in Erie, PA gathered for a small happy hour. Included below is a Flickr slideshow of photographs taken at the happy hour event (use right/left arrows to advance slideshow).

As the global economy comes back online, traffic jams are happening at all levels of the supply chains. And that, in turn, has made things pretty chaotic for customs brokers. Gretchen Blough, Customs Brokerage Manager at Logistics Plus, makes another appearance on Marketplace, Hosted by Kai Ryssdal, to describe what she’s been dealing with in the shipping business.
