A new group of Logistics Plus employees completed the Dale Carnegie Skills for Success program at our global headquarters in Erie, PA. For the fourth time, Logistics Plus provided this foundational leadership program to 20 employees who volunteered to strengthen their people, communication, management, and leadership skills, build confidence, and manage stress more effectively. The course took place for three and a half hours every Wednesday for eight weeks. The program will continue to be made available to additional Logistics Plus employees in the future.
The Dale Carnegie Skills for Success course has five main objectives:
Build greater self-confidence
Strengthen people skills
Enhance communication skills
Develop leadership skills
Reduce stress and improve our attitude
The Dale Carnegie program is used worldwide to help companies improve leadership skills and invest in their employees. Jim Berlin, Founder and CEO of Logistics Plus, has taken the course twice and wanted to allow his employees to experience it. Jim said, “In my mind, this course gives you the ‘tricks of the trade’ on becoming a better human being, getting along with others, and getting things done. I’d highly recommend it to everyone.”
Suzie Emo, an International Imports Specialist, was one of the employees who participated in the class. Suzie said, “The Dale Carnegie program provided me with unique and exciting practices to help me develop my professional confidence. It helped me set a direction for myself that I am proud to be heading in. This class brings a different result for everyone, but I know it is always a positive one. I am so thankful for this opportunity, and strongly encourage anyone considering this course to take the leap.” Upon completion of the class, Suzi won the ‘Highest Achiever’ award.
After the program, our employees expressed gratitude towards Jim Berlin (CEO), Yuriy Ostapyak (COO), and the Dale Carnegie team for providing them with this learning opportunity. The life lessons and leadership skills gained throughout this experience will never be forgotten.
Jim Berlin Named to Smart Business Pittsburgh “Smart 50” List a Second Time
The Smart 50 Awards recognize the top executives of the smartest companies in the region.
ERIE, PA (November 3, 2022) – Logistics Plus, Inc., a leading worldwide provider of transportation, logistics, and supply chain solutions, is proud to announce that its founder and CEO, Jim Berlin, has been selected by the judging panel of Smart Business Pittsburgh to be a 2022 Smart 50 Award honoree. Jim was previously recognized with a 2017 Smart 50 Award.
The Smart 50 Awards recognize the top executives of the 50 smartest companies in the region for their ability to effectively build and lead successful organizations. All 50 winners were honored at a special celebration on November 1st at Duquesne Club in Pittsburgh and will be featured in a special editorial report in the November edition of Smart Business Pittsburgh magazine.
As part of the honors, Smart Business noted the following on its website: “With a background as a truck driver and political activist, Logistics Plus Inc. Founder and CEO Jim Berlin took a gamble 26 years ago with one customer, a one-year purchase order and three employees to create a highly successful global logistics enterprise. The company continues to grow and expand under Berlin’s unique and passionate leadership. His philosophy of saying yes to virtually any challenge has led to a company that provides almost any solution needed across a supply chain. In 2003, he bought the dilapidated Union Station building in downtown Erie for his global headquarters. Investments in charities, the commissioning of murals to combat blight, and the ongoing training of hundreds of interns have created an organization that is as committed to the community as it is to its success.”

Logistics Plus Helps Remove 3.5 Million Kilos of Plastic from the Pacific Ocean
Three million five hundred thousand kilos of plastic is equivalent to 175 million plastic water bottles.
ERIE, PA (October 20, 2022) – Logistics Plus Inc., a leading worldwide provider of transportation, logistics, and supply chain solutions, is proud to announce that it has helped finance the collection of 3,500,000 kilos (over 7 million pounds) of ocean plastic through the Restoring Integrity To The Oceans (RIO) Blue Ocean Program over the last two years. Earlier this year, Logistics Plus also received the official (RIO) Plastic Neutrality Certification for 2022, its second year in a row.
The plastics collection was overseen by Ocean Stop! and carried out by indigenous fishermen. The 3,500,000 kilos of plastic collected is equivalent to 175,000,000 plastic water bottles and more than one hundred times the plastic footprint of Logistics Plus. The collection of this much plastic is estimated to save the global economy up to $115,500,000.
RIO Chairman Kieran Kelly expressed his gratitude for working with Logistics Plus. “Logistics Plus has partnered with RIO on multiple environmental projects. This company is the most eco-friendly logistics company in the world, and they are true ocean heroes. Jim Berlin, Yuriy Ostapyak, and the entire team are environmental rockstars.” Kieran added, “We can rid our ocean of plastic waste. It just takes teamwork and commitment to do so.”
As a ‘thank you’ to Logistics Plus, RIO produced the video below. Watch it here or on the Logistics Plus YouTube Channel.
