New Logistics Plus Project Cargo Videos

New Logistics Plus Project Cargo Videos

Videos CircleThe Logistics Plus Project Cargo team has published two new videos to the Logistics Plus YouTube Channel.

This most recent time-lapse video showcases the latest move of LPG tanks from China to Brazil. This time the tanks were slightly smaller and didn’t have to be installed directly into the hull. But moving four of them on the same ship and discharging to the floating dock on arrival was still a very tight operation.

This second video shows that when modern equipment is not available, and the budget does not allow to bring it in, Logistics Plus still masters the skill of the old ways and gets the job done safely.

Big Picture Large Mural Project RFP for Regional Artists

Big Picture Large Mural Project RFP for Regional Artists

Side-of-Skinner-BuildingLogistics Plus continues its community service with an exciting new project opportunity. The Big Picture, a collaborative effort of the Erie Art Museum, the YMCA of Erie, and Erie Arts & Culture with support from Tungsten Creative Group, is requesting proposals from regional artists for a design, installation plan and budget for a large-scale mural to be located on the east wall of the Logistics Plus Skinner Warehouse (formerly the Skinner Engine Building) located at 337 West 12th Street, Erie, Pennsylvania. The goal of the mural is to build pride and a greater understanding of Erie’s manufacturing history while beautifying Erie’s most heavily traveled street. It is estimated that an average of between 10,000 and 20,000 vehicles travel along the 12th Street corridor daily. Funding for the project is provided in part by a grant from Erie Insurance Group. Work must be completed by April 2016.

Click the image below to download a PDF document containing the full scope of the project and official application form (which must be emailed to bigpicture814@gmail.com by November 1, 2015 to be considered. Smart Way Transport PartnerLaunched in 2004, SmartWay® is an EPA program that helps the freight transportation sector improve supply chain efficiency. The SmartWay Transport Partnership is a strong government/industry collaboration between freight shippers, carriers, logistics companies and other stakeholders, to voluntarily achieve improved fuel efficiency and reduce environmental impacts from freight transport. Participating companies, like Logistics Plus, use performance based quantification and reporting tools that benchmark and inform industry and the marketplace on freight operations, energy and environmental efficiency. SmartWay partners demonstrate to customers, clients, and investors that they are taking responsibility for the emissions associated with goods movement, are committed to corporate social responsibility and sustainable business practices, and are reducing their carbon footprint. National Day in China Coming Soon

National Day in China Coming Soon

China-FlagImportant Announcement Concerning International Freight Forwarding Services to and from China

Most Chinese businesses will be closed for National Day in China from Thursday, October 1 through Wednesday, October 7 to celebrate the founding of the People’s Republic of China (including the LP China office). This will create limited air and ocean capacity in and out of Chinese ports as shippers scramble to get cargo out prior to the holiday. After that, airlines and ocean carriers will be playing catch-up after the holiday.  As a result, Logistics Plus customers importing from, or exporting to, China should expect some transportation delays over the next few weeks. Additionally, with big box retailers and large manufactures buying up this limited capacity, air and ocean rates could be unseasonably higher than normal as well.

As always, the logistics specialists at Logistics Plus are here to help you navigate through these seasonal events as best as we can. If you have any questions regarding this information, please contact your local Logistics Plus location or call our Global Headquarters at 1.866.LOG.PLUS (866-564-7587) within Canada and United States. You can also email our international solutions team at international@logististisplus.net. We thank you for your business and look forward to continually serving your global import and export transportation needs with affordable, high quality air and ocean freight forwarding solutions.
