As the year-end holidays approach, we want to help you avoid unnecessary shipping delays over the next several weeks. Shown below is the holiday schedule for U.S.-based Logistics Plus offices and warehouse locations, as well as the top U.S. ground (parcel and LTL) carriers.

A small group of Logistics Plus employees recently visited O’Hare International Airport in Chicago to monitor the unloading of aircraft containing freight for one of our customers. The LP Team also received a tour of the facility and the airline’s import/export processes. Andrew Grizzales and Mike Pytlik from the LP Chicago Warehouse and Aaron Bisbee, Brian Matson, and Ryan Crotty from LP Erie were in attendance.

Logistics Plus attended the More Freight, More Problems conference hosted by Carrier Assure in Chicago, Illinois, from October 10 to 11. The conference provided insight into the best practices for carrier vetting and onboarding. With the increasing amount of fraud in the logistics and trucking industries, this conference focused on how to take preventative actions to avoid fraudulent carrier issues.
At the conference, Brittni Schlosser (Administrative & Credit Specialist) and Rachael Bombardier (Insurance Department) represented Logistics Plus. Photos from the conference can be seen below.

The Logistics Plus Poland team is excited to announce the addition of a new warehouse in Gdańsk. The warehouse is located 10 kilometers from the Baltic Hub Container Terminal (DCT Gdańsk) and 30 kilometers from the Gdynia Container Terminal (BCT Gdynia). Conveniently, the warehouse is also near the S6 and S7 expressways and the A1 motorway. In total, the warehouse is 4,000 sq. meters (43,000 sq. feet) and has an additional temperature-controlled section that ranges from 15-25 degrees Celsius.

Logistics Plus Customs Brokerage Manager Gretchen Blough made another appearance on NPR’s Marketplace to comment on how the severe drought in Panama is causing issues for the global supply chain.
“We’ve seen the trend lately where the cargo ships just keep getting bigger and bigger to carry more containers,” Gretchen told Kai Ryssdal. “Bigger isn’t always better when it comes to the efficiency of getting goods from here to there when you have a situation like the Panama Canal. … So, yeah, quite the challenge.”
