Logistics Plus was a proud sponsor of the annual Swing For Freedom Golf Invitational held in Washington, D.C. on May 10th. This event, hosted by the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), is a benefit for the United Service Organizations (USO). Since 1941, the USO has served as the vital bridge between Americans and their military service members. You can read more about the USO here.
As seen in the image, Blaine Kurtz, Director of Aerospace and Defense, represented Logistics Plus in the golf outing. Blaine played alongside Brandon Donithan (Estes), Jim Ayers (Textron Defense), and Roy Patterson (The Diplomat Group). The team shot a respectable 5 under par, but more importantly a great time was had for a great cause.
The Logistics Plus (LP) Dammam, Saudi Arabia team successfully completed the discharge and delivery of a a 88 ton heat boiler. The heat boiler was discharged from an AN124 aircraft at the Dammam airport and delivered to a plant site in Jubail.
The LP Dammam team was first responsible for the coordination of timely import clearance with the consignee. Once the boiler was cleared, the LP Dammam team used a shore crane to lift the boiler from the rail ramp to the trailer, and ultimately deliver it to the final job site.
Logistics Plus Sponsors Best of Varsity Cup 2019 Presented by Erie Times-News/GoErie.com
It is the third-consecutive year that Logistics Plus has been a marquee sponsor.

The event is to celebrate and honor the accomplishments of the 2018-2019 All-Area high school student athletes and top performers from 45 high schools across 8 Counties in 24 sports.
The 2019 awards banquet, which takes place next month on Wednesday, June 26th at the Bayfront Convention Center in Erie, PA, is a way to say thank you to the thousands of outstanding high school athletes, coaches and fans who allow Erie Times-News/GoErie.com to share their stories, performances and passions. Awards will be presented to the Outstanding Player of the Year in each sport, as well as Male Athlete of the Year, Female Athlete of the Year and Coach of the Year. Best of Varsity Cup athletes are invited to attend for free and the event is open to family, friends and the general public.
As a primary sponsor, Logistics Plus is also proud to welcome Pro Football Hall of Fame legend and former Buffalo Bills quarterback, Jim Kelly, as the guest speaker for this year’s Best of Varsity Cup awards dinner. Kelly originally was scheduled to attend the 2018 Varsity Cup, but because of a recurrence of cancer and his continuing recovery last spring the Times-News was unable to have Kelly serve as the main speaker. Pittsburgh Steelers great Hines Ward served as the speaker last year in Kelly’s absence.
“All of us at Logistics Plus are proud to be associated with the Best of Varsity Cup for a third consecutive year,” said Jim Berlin, founder and CEO of Logistics Plus. “The dedication, hard-work, and passion for excellence shown by these young athletes are traits that we all admire and share here at Logistics Plus.” Berlin added, “As a lifelong Bills fan, I am also very excited that Jim Kelly will be our special guest for the dinner this year.”
