Logistics Plus is proud to announce it has officially received SOC 2 Type 1 certification for its eShipPlus and MyLogisticsPlus systems. SOC 2 is increasingly becoming the “must-have” compliance requirement that technology companies need today. As businesses leverage the services of third-party providers, SOC 2 compliance is becoming necessary for a wide variety of organizations.
Logistics Plus worked with TrustNet, a leading provider of CyberSecurity and Attestation services, to produce the SOC report. This requires an examination sufficient to satisfy the independent service auditor’s professional standards for testing the design and operational effectiveness of controls. SOC 2 compliance is critical in satisfying the needs of a global audience. The SOC 2 criteria are established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and focus on confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems.
The Logistics Plus SOC 2 Security Type 1 report is available upon request to help you and your auditors understand the Logistics Plus controls established to support data security, availability, confidentiality, privacy, and more. Please contact us to request a copy.

Alert Message:
Please be advised that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced an increase in the Merchandise Processing Fee (MPF), which will commence on October 1, 2024.
The MPF is a user fee that the CBP charges in addition to U.S. Customs Duty. MPF for formal entries is an ad valorem fee of 0.3464%. The fee is based on the value of the merchandise being imported, not including duty, freight, and insurance charges.
Current minimum MPF: $31.67
New minimum MPF: $32.71
Current maximum MPF: $614.35
New maximum MPF: $634.62
MPF for informal entries is a set fee assessed on goods transported to the U.S. via air, ship, or international mail.
Current informal entry fee: $2.53
New informal entry fee: $2.62
Formal and informal entries are subject to a manufacturing processing fee. The Code of Federal Regulations 19 CFR 21.23(b)(1) requires the importer of record to pay the fee to CBP at the time of presenting the entry summary. Formal entries are required for imports of commercial goods valued at $2,500 or more.
Informal entries generally do not require a CBP bond and are usually for personal use imports or commercial imports valued at less than $2,500 (only if the Port Director requests based on importation).

Alert Message:
Logistics Plus would like to inform you of an upcoming change to our Pier Pass Fee due to a change in charges regulated by the marine container terminals at the Port of Long Beach and Los Angeles.
The West Coast MTO Agreement (WCMTOA) announced on August 1st, 2024, that on September 1, 2024, the Traffic Mitigation Fee (TMF) at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach will increase by 6%. The adjustment matches the combined 6% increase in longshore wage and assessment rates recently ratified in the coastwide contract between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and the Pacific Maritime Association.
Beginning September 1, 2024, the TMF will be $37.71 per TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) or $75.42 per forty-foot container. The TMF is charged on non-exempt containers. Containers exempt from the TMF include empty containers; import cargo or export cargo that transits the Alameda Corridor in a container and is subject to a fee imposed by the Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority; and transshipment cargo. Empty chassis and bobtail trucks are also exempt.
We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for doing business with us. Please contact your local sales or customer service representative if you have any questions.

Francisco Tijerina, Director of Logistics Plus Mexico, was featured in the July 2024 Voice of the Independent newsletter. On page 6 of the publication, Francisco discussed the challenges for Latin America’s small-to-medium-sized enterprises in the post-COVID era.
Francisco commented on how the current global trading situation has proved beneficial to Latin America. “For years, countries in the region have been working to get a more open market system, negotiating Free Trade Agreements among the close-by nations, as well as participating in negotiations with the strongest countries in every continent.” Francisco added, “These initiatives have put them in an ideal situation to mediate commercially between China and the United States.”
