Logistics Plus was the proud host for the Whistlestops for Ukraine tour on May 22nd in Erie, PA. The Whistlestops tour is organized by the German Marshall Fund and the Howard G. Buffett Foundation to drum up support for Ukraine across rural American communities that specialize in agriculture and manufacturing.
The Whistestops tour stopped at the Logistics Plus Global Headquarters for a ‘walk and talk’ and roundtable discussion during the Erie visit. Several high-profile CEO’s and business leaders from across the country and world attended, including Howard Buffett (American Businessman and Philanthropist), Heather Conley (President of the German Marshall Fund), and Kateryna Smagliy (Embassy of Ukraine to the U.S.).
The goal of the roundtable discussion was to highlight how supporting Ukraine improves America’s own security and prosperity, showcase how American communities have mobilized to support, inform how Ukraine is discussed in local, national, and global conversations, and foster champions for Ukraine among the American people.
Since the onset of the war, Logistics Plus has taken a leading role in the rebuilding efforts in Ukraine among the global logistics community. The Whistestops for Ukraine event is just one of the many ways Logistics Plus is doing its part to support mutual security and prosperity. About Whistestops for Ukraine
The German Marshall Fund of the United States, the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, and Farm Journal are partnering on a multi-state public diplomacy initiative in support of Ukraine’s victory, recovery, and reconstruction. This whistlestop tour, headlined by GMF President Heather A. Conley and Howard Buffett, will foster conversations on how the war in Ukraine affects local, national, and global communities.
At each stop of the tour through the American heartland, representatives from local governments, civic and faith-based organizations, agricultural groups, local businesses, and Ukrainian communities will gather to discuss why a free and sovereign Ukraine matters to America.
